HISTORY
The Palace International Film
Festival (PIFF), now in its second year, and in partnership with The
Palace Arts Residency, presents an intimate and diverse programme
within a 700 year old Palace in Poland.
PIFF invites submissions from
Documentary, General, Queer, Experimental and Emerging Talent. The
festival offers a unique experience for filmmakers to exhibit their
work to a carefully curated audience of artists in a uniquely
immersive cinema. Our extensive selection of talks, Q & As and
workshops encourage filmmakers to showcase their work, create
conversations and elevate experimentation within the wider context
of the 200+ residency. We encourage the filmmaker to be an active
participant in the international Palace Arts community.

Details:
QUEER
The Festival is open to different
interpretations of the term 'queer' as this word has grown to
encompass an increasingly diverse array of topics and views of
gender and sexuality.

EXPERIMENTAL FILM: Lines and Circles
Lines and Circles is the experimental strand of The Palace
International Film Festival. We are looking for anything from a blob
on a camera lens to a poetic and visual non narrative.

NEW TALENT: Newbies
An open call to all first and second time filmmakers, both short and
feature. Still in film school or just graduated? Or perhaps you've
just thought you'd give the whole film thing a shot. Our new talent
strand will give you a warm welcome in an intimate and positive
exhibition space.

DOCUMENTARY FILMS: Docu_me
Docu-Me is the documentary strand of
The Palace International Film Festival. The Festival is looking for
documentaries that spark a deep debate after our intimate
screenings.If you think youve got a strong topic then send your
documentary our way.

GENERAL SHORTS: Prince's & Princess'
They are looking to laugh, cry and
sink into our hay bales for our short film strands. We want to see
some one minute wonders as well as some cutting edge stories.

A general call out to all features,
of all shape and form, weird and norm to become part of The Palace
International Film Festival and the unique experience of exhibiting
your film at this off the grid film festival.

Premiere Status:
The Festival do not require any national and local premiere
status, all that we require is that the film has completed post
production in the last 36 months.
Rules and Terms:
The Palace International Film Festival is seeking feature
length and short films (under 30 minutes) from all genres with
particular attention to first time and second time filmmakers.
We don't accept 35mm
A COVER LETTER showing enthusiasm for the artist residency, you
don't have to be an expert or prove that you'll be bringing
something, all we want is energy and enthusiasm.
DVDs are accepted for preview screening, we also accept secure
online screeners.
More than one entry may be submitted. Each entry must be
accompanied by an official entry form and entry fee.
If your film is selected, you will be asked to provide headshot
and filmographies of the creative team members; b&w and/or color
stills from the film; press materials; and video trailer (if
available).
The entry fee is non-refundable.
The filmmaker agrees to deliver the hi-res Quicktime File or DCP
to the festival no later than June 30th 2018.
All film entries selected for the Festival grant First Time Fest
the rights to use footage, stills and/or titles and information from
the film for promotional purposes.
DVDs and other submitted materials will not be returned. Please do
not send film prints, master tapes or other originals.
Each entrant warrants and represents that he/she is the creator of
the submitted entry or the legal and duly authorized representative
of the creator/rightsholder; that the entry is original and owned by
entrant; that the entry is free of any claims by other parties; and
that the entry was not created without authorization at ones job,
using your employer's equipment or on the employer's time, unless
being submitted with employer permission. If an entry is
disqualified an alternate winner will be selected by the judges
based on the judging criteria.
